Sometimes we’re not moving forward.
Sometimes we’re just… escaping.

This collection is about the quiet ways we step away from things in life — the goals we postpone, the dreams we delay, the health we promise to take care of “soon,” the financial independence we’re working toward, the conversations we avoid, or the emotions we’re not ready to face yet.

We all cope differently.
Through numbing ourselves with distractions, addictions, hobbies, comfort routines, side quests, long walks, binge watching, scrolling, creating, or simply pausing life for a while.

These are the side quests of life.

Sometimes they exist because we’re protecting our comfort zones.
Sometimes they’re how we gather strength before the next challenge. The recovery period. The prep for ammo before the next war begins. The celebration of winning a tough level, before the next level.

It acknowledges that escaping isn’t always a failure — sometimes it’s a form of coping, survival, reflection, or healing.

But it also carries a gentle reminder:
It’s okay to step away for a while… as long as one day you choose to come back and face/do what matters. As long as you come back. Recenter.

Because every pause has a purpose.
And every escape eventually leads you somewhere.
