Hailing from a filmmaking background, Varun is essentially a story teller, working as an Assistant Director on a wide range of productions, including short films, feature films, documentaries, commercials, product shoots, and advertising campaigns.

Born and raised in Mumbai, he eventually moved to Goa in search of a slower pace of life and a more vibrant creative community. Along the way, he contributed to the National Award-winning feature Mog Asum, among several other notable projects.

Today, besides filmmaking, armed with his uke and a pencil, accompanied by his two dogs, Varun works as an illustrator and comic creator. His practice explores whimsical storytelling, nature, and imagination through projects and collections such as Cosmic Pollen, The Big Whoof, and other original works that continue to evolve his distinctive visual universe.
